How do I upload my MP3 files to my account?
Solution
We have made two ways in which you can upload your MP3 files to your account.
1) Browser Based Upload
Here is where you can upload your MP3 media using your web
browser. This makes it as easy as selecting the file from
your computer's hard drive, and hitting "upload". The only
thing that is required after that is to name the song with
the artist & title.
This makes it very easy to upload an MP3 to your account,
however the problem comes in to play in certain situations
if your Internet connection is through a broadband router
or a network firewall which can limit how long HTTP
requests through your browser can take -or- if your upload
speed is very slow (i.e. dialup) in which case the servers
on our end may be terminating the connection because it is
taking too long to upload the file.
More is described under the "Browser Based Uploading" sub-
category of this knowledgebase category.
2) FTP Based Upload
Using the FTP upload system, you can use your favorite FTP
client, such as CuteFTP or FileZilla, to upload your media
to your account on our server.
Overall, there are a few more steps involved, however this
system is much more reliable than browser-based uploading
as it uses the standard FTP (File Transfer) protocol.
Most FTP clients allow you to upload multiple files at the
same time along with resuming uploads where they left off
if a transfer was interrupted.
The FTP upload system is recommended. You can learn more
about how to upload your media via FTP under the "FTP
Based Uploading" sub-category of this knowledgebase
category.
